Not just football season…also Baby season

Several friends pushing babies into this world lately, so I thought I would wrap up the AYSI challenge with accomplishing the personal task of having baby cards to send also. Multi-tasking is part of my soul…what can I say.

Here is what the AYSI sketch challenge looked like this week:

I think some of the girls (designers were grumbling about this one because they were having trouble with it.
I can’t say that it came together quickly and I think that is due to some of my “detour” during my creative process.
I did have it narrowed down to “baby” and I also went looking for a good color challenge and came across the Friday Mashup which was Crumb Cake, Coastal Cabana, and Real Red – perfect for my boy card, so just had to alter slightly for a girl card – I can do that.

Here is how it all came together for the boy card:

And the girl card just swapped out the blue for a pink:

I didn’t think January was a typical baby pushing month…if it’s cold where you are it may be a good baby making month… I can see that.
Have you noticed more babies being born? Or is it just me?

AYSI Challenge 001!

Exciting day today! The first release over at As You See It Challenge.

Check out this great sketch and head over to see all the other design team members projects that are bound to inspire.  You have until Thursday, September 12th at 11:55pm PST to play along.

I saw this challenge as one piece of a digital scrapbook page (um, didn’t we do digital already this week? Oh well).

I started working with the flags and began with the idea of a celebration and when I came across these photos of my friends new daughter, (remember baby Emmyson?) I just knew they were perfect.  I LOVED playing with a really girly design; the doilies, the heart, the ribbon, the pink. I don’t get to do that ever!  One of my loves of My Digital Studio is that I could SO easily change the colours in this page and swap out a couple embellishments and it could be an equally fabulous baby boy page…with no extra cost and limited extra work.

I can’t wait to get this printed and gift it to their family! EEE! <-excited squeal!

Hope to see it “As You See It” soon.
