Label Love Wedding

I have recently discovered the beauty of gifting someone with a package of thank you cards during those special or busy times in life… births, deaths, marriage.
The monthly challenge over at  Catherine & Cathy Create is Here Comes the Bride…so a wedding theme project. Perfect!

A colleague of my husbands just got married this past weekend and I created these cards for them.

It was a small intimate wedding and I am not even sure if they had wedding colours…what colour would you suggest?

What happened to summer?

Seriously…what happened? It is very cool and very rainy today.  I wanted to get a photo to illustrate what a gray and wet day it is here.  I guess I won’t be drying my clothes on the line today…

Since it is the beginning of the end of summer… I may as well just make Christmas cards. HA!
I’ve got Christmas on the brain as I just did a Holiday stampers dozen class last evening… If you missed it, watch for more this fall.

Retrosketches #77 had me thinking snowflakes…

so I went with it.

The Power of Two

One of my favourite kind of cards to give are anniversary cards. Obviously, lasting love is worth celebrating, whether it is one year or fifty, Can you tell it brings out the romantic in me?
I had two great friends that I have known for a long time (think Kindergarten) celebrating their anniversary recently. Their card was inspired by the Papercraft Crew sketch #54

Sketch-54

Here is my anniversary version:

The card strikes a nice balance between feminine and grunge that will appeal to both of them.  I love this sentiment from Yippee Skippee for an Anniversary card, don’t you?

Stamps: Yippee Skippee, Happy Hour, Gorgeous Grunge
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush, Smoky Slate, Basic Gray
Paper: Whisper White, Coastal Cabana
Accessories: Epic Day washi tape, Rhinestones, Honeycomb embossing folder

When it just comes together

Sometimes things just don’t come together the way you want them to.  That was my experience last night.

Finally, I gave up.

I got up from my craft desk and turned off all of the lights and started to my room.

Suddenly! Out of the blue I turned around, went back to my studio, flicked the light back on and it came together in about 35 seconds!

Thanksgiving I hadn’t been working on a Thanksgiving card, but that is what it turned in to.  That is what worked.

Of course I LOVE Gorgeous Grunge, so that is the background.  The washi tape is actually the one from the Christmas washi bundle (shhhh…don’t tell anyone).  The sentiment is from Tags 4 You, and coordinates with the new Label Bracket Punch (broth from the Holiday catalog).  I topped it off with a Very Vintage button tied with Linen Thread.

When was the last time you had something “just come together?”
