One of the cutest sets from the 2012 catalog is Friendly Phrases. And today is the last day to order it! Here is the card I used with Retrosketches #65.
I loved using this sketch so much. Plus because this card was so simple I ended up making a whole set of cards using my remaining International Bazaar DSP and the Brights Buttons.
If you have any last items on your wish list, you must act fast.
Tomorrow is the LAST day to order from the current 2012-2013 catalog and with that we have to say farewell to some favourites. Favourite stamps and favourite tools too. Here is my favourite 5 accessories and tools that are retiring:
Colour Spritzer Tool ($12.71 – 25% off)
How people will make easy sprays of any colour without this I do not yet know….
Watercolour Wonder Crayons (21.95)
Love the smoothness and easy of watercolouring with these tidy crayons.
Fabric! ($7.50 – 40% off)
Splashes of fabric to projects and gifts add such dimension.
Shimmer Paint ($7.95)
Addition of shimmer and shine when used with the Stampin’ Spritzers
Designer Buttons ($6.57 – 40% off)
A favourite embellishment of all crafters
As always, there is always a silver lining, and as we say goodbye to old favourites we will also get to say hello to new favourites…stay tuned for my favourites from the new 2013-2014 catalog!
I love things that go together; peanut butter and jam, black and white, paper and embossing folders….
Check out how great the Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer Series Paper go with our embossing folders:
I used strips of three different patterns of the Sunshine and Sprinkles paper along with the Stripes, Chevron, and Clouds embossing folders. I thought that the Sassy Salutations sentiments worked great with this card. Then I tied each card together with a different kinds of ribbon. To top it off I tried (and successfully) added a coordinating envelope liner for each card. I really like this layout and will be using it again. Here is the layout as a challenge for you to use:
Try it out in the next month and then post a link to your project before June 15th.
Mothers Day cards are probably the hardest cards for me to create because I put a huge amount of expectation on them being perfect. And as a Voltiare quote tells me, “Perfect is the enemy of the good.” And while I’m happy to admit my Mothers Day cards did not turn out perfect, they certainly more than good.
Sneak peek at our new In Colour cardstock, for both cards I used Crisp Cataloupe and Pistachio Pudding.
I created this one for my Grandma, using several pieces of the Artisan Embellishment Kit and…what’s that a new embossing folder, called Modern Mosaic.
This one I made for my Mom, and it has a sneak peak at a new Hostess stamp set, called Sweetly Framed.
The other reason why I struggle so much with cards for my Mom and Grandma is there is just not enough space to share all of the things that I treasure about them both. Love you Mom and Grandma!
